If your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough
“If your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough” –Chase the Lion, Mark Batterson
I am super excited to be returning as a second year intern for Para Servir 2018! Being surrounded by 10+ young ladies, learning and growing in our relationships with Christ as well as serving the people of Guatemala was an experience like no other. Para Servir taught me what true love and service in the sight of our father looks like. It gave me the opportunity to understand the importance of forming and cultivating relationships with others. I was encouraged to put my worth in Christ and to not be afraid of following my dreams.
Going into the internship this summer, I want to focus on being intentional about forming relationships not only with the other interns, but everyone we come across as well. I want to be challenged and pushed out of my comfort zone in order to recognize the ways the Lord can work in and through us.
I am passionate about encouraging others to dream and see themselves the way our Father sees us. We could go throughout our entire lives wondering “what if I did this…” or “what if I did that…” without following through with our plans. What I’ve come to realize is that so many people get stuck in the dreaming phase. We are taught to dream. We are taught to aspire to be someone and to do something, however the disconnect exists between the dreaming and the doing. I’ve learned that at some point, we need to stop designing the life we want to live and start building it. That being said, following your dreams and the Lord’s calling on your life takes work. It takes trust, faith, the willingness to put in work and be made uncomfortable, and so much more. Throughout this summer, I want to direct my focus on bringing hope to the hopeless and showing God’s love to the people I meet.
