A New Chapter in Life
After a week of decompressing and adjusting back, now I can finally update everyone on my trip to Haiti. Theatre on a Mission was so fortunate to stay at Hope House Haiti and give the kids a week long theatre camp. It was jam packed with singing, dancing, acting and lots of bonding.
The children at Hope House and throughout the community have a special place in my heart forever. This was by the far the best experince of my life thus far. When you go on a mission trip the objective is to serve, but the staff and children that we met gave us so much more than we could ever give them. Genia said it best, “Americans will not be the ones to chang Haiti, YOU (the children) will be the ones to change Haiti.” Mrs. Yvrose and Mr. Pierre have a vision that is blossoming each and every day in Haiti. They are building up strong and brave leaders that can do anything they put their minds to. Those children serve the Lord day in and day out, and that was the most inspiring thing I was able to experience while I was there. Waking up each morning to their blissful voices worshiping the Lord would bring me to tears. Each of those children are filled with such unique personalities that were so unforgettable.
To our translators who turned into our friends, thank you so much for being apart of our team for the week and being such a huge helping hand. It wouldn’t have been possible without each of you!
To the team members of TOM, we worked so hard to make this trip happen and I wouldn’t have wanted to spend an entire week out of the country working with any other group of talented and loving people other than yourselves. We selflessly gave ourselves to those children everyday with 110%
To everyone who supported me along the way to get to Haiti, thank you so much! This trip was the best experience I’ve ever had, and opened a new chapter in my life. This was the first of many mission trips I will take and look forward to the continued to support. This was the most amazing way to bring in my 22nd birthday and set the tone for a year that will be filled with many blessings
