She Believed She Could, So She Did

This Summer I am beyond ready to take on Guatemala with an amazing group of girls. My heart can barely contain the excitement.

Around the age of 10 I went on my firs cruise. Since then I have been on about seven. I’ve traveled to places like Cozumel, St Thomas,Jamaica, Honduras  and Belize. The more I go to other Countries  the more my heart grows towards them. My heart is always so full when I have the opportunity to buy something from a little old lady trying to make “one American dollar” to buy her children something to eat.

Although I have never been to what I would consider the “real” part of Haiti or Mexico, I still somehow feel a deep connection to foreign countries. Something that I have never told anyone is that I would love to have a house in Mexico someday, pouring out my heart to the local people.  Yes, there is something about Mexico that I just love.

In the year of 2017 I lost the meaning of “love”. I was in a place where I loved nothing and nobody, not even myself. I strongly struggle with self love. During this time I came across a quote that said, ” She believed she could so she did.”  That has stuck with me and now I am learning to love myself more every day.

During the 2018 Para Server Internship I hope to pour my heart and soul out about Jesus Christ to anyone I come into contact with. I hope to show them the love that the Lord has shown me recently.  I know this scripture is so basic, but do you ever just think about John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. That speaks volumes to me!

I can hardly wait to see where this journey takes me.
