It’s a process

I don’t know where to begin. No words could possibly measure up to all that I learned & experienced this week. Every child I had the pleasure of meeting stole my heart away. I received so much love & I learned how to give more love. All of my life I have heard of people in need. People starving. My heart always hurt for the thought of that. I’ve always had it pictured in my head that I knew what it was like… I learned on this trip that I didn’t even come close to knowing. It’s one thing to hear about it, but it’s completely eye opening to be in the middle of the situation & seeing people with such little. We seen people in such desperate need… Little children running around without underwear.. mothers trying to hand there babies to any of us that would take them. & when I say take them I don’t mean just hold them. Something inside me just broke completely. Seeing that they were in such need hurt my heart for each person. I began to feel guilty because I have so much & they have so little. The knowledge that we left them there & that they didn’t know when there next meal would be or if they would even have one. So, you ask me what I learned on this trip here it is. I learned how to love. I learned how to receive love. I learned to be grateful. I learned “reality” as it truly is. I learned that as much as I want to change these type of situations & change them right now, I can’t. It’s a process & all I can do is keep pressing on. I will do all in my power to give freely & to share the love of Jesus. My prospective has been changed, for the better. I have been given freely by my Heavenly Father, & I believe that my job is to turn around & give freely to others, as I have been given. Some people have been blessed & others are in desperate need. You can choose to ignore these situation or do anything you can to help. These words (by Mrs.Genia O’Neal) will stick with me forever. “Now that you know. You are responsible.”
