Make a difference by participating in a 3 month hands-on internship that will challenge you mentally, physically, and spiritually. Dirty Feet Missions invites anyone 17 years old and up to participate in Para Servir [literally meaning “to serve”].
This internship is focused on preparing individuals who want to serve others in their own communities and around the globe. Void of denominational doctrine, we will challenge you, broaden your perspective and expand your faith as you pursue the life God has called you to.

Who: Open to ages 17+ and all genders
What: This will be a 3-month long internship with virtual and in-person participation where you will receive hands-on training to be a missionary and work alongside others to serve a community.
When: June 6th – August 27th
- Virtual: June 6th – July 1st
- In-Person: July 3rd – July 29th
- Final Project: August 8th – 27th
Where: Virtual & Panajachel, Guatemala
Please note that the country of Guatemala requires all visitors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to entry. We will require proof of vaccination as part of the application process.
The first half of the internship will be completed virtually and focus on preparing to be a missionary in another country with trainings on: mission work and humanitarianism, conflict resolution, and cultural competency.
The second half of the internship will be completed in person in Guatemala, giving you the opportunity to put your training to work. We will be working with our women’s alcohol and drug rehab center, Casa Hogar de Rehabilitación Ixoq’i, as well as in a rural community we are partnering with, and other NGOs in the area.
Upon returning home from Guatemala, you will have the opportunity to use everything that you have learned and experienced during Para Servir 2022 to develop a project to serve others.
It is our goal to make Para Servir as cost effective as possible. The cost includes: transportation while in Guatemala, accommodations, the majority of your meals, translators, cultural and fun day activities, and service projects. Please Note: the cost does not include your airfare.
You are responsible for your own airfare to and from Guatemala as well as short term travel insurance. Our staff will be happy to help you with your reservations.
